In a press conference this morning, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar announced that in response to Covid-19, all schools, colleges and childcare facilities will close from 6pm today Thursday 12th March until 29th March.
The Department of Education and Skills has issued advice for parents and schools on how to talk to children about Covid-19. Children need factual, age appropriate information and concrete instruction about how to avoid spreading the virus. The Department’s advice provides guidance on how to approach the issue with young children and we would encourage parents to read the information and bear it in mind over the coming days and weeks.
